1yr: Littlest Nature Lover

We've been soaking up whānau time recently, celebrating one year of our littlest nature lover.

This past year has been a wonderful, wild ride. Seeing our pēpi's innate curiosity and awe for nature and learning has been an incredibly special and rewarding experience. Our days are often filled with waving to the plants (who wave back in the wind), watching the birds, exploring outdoors, reading stories, and playing together (a recent favourite has been spending time at our outdoor mud kitchen nomatter the weather/temperature... frost, rain, sun unphased).

I thought my gratitude for this place we call home couldn’t run any deeper, but motherhood has grounded me in this feeling more than ever. Each day reminds me how lucky we are to grow, learn, and play in this whenua.

Ko te whenua te wai ū mō ngā uri whakatipu. | The land provides the sustenance for the coming generations.

Poipoia te kākano kia puawai. | Nurture the seed, and it will blossom.
