Establishing Forest & Bird Youth Wellington

It has been over half a year in the process, but I can finally announce what I have been working on behind the scenes.

I present to you Forest & Bird Youth Wellington (Ngā Māhuri Tiaki Te-Whanga-nui-a-Tara). A youth run initiative focussed on restoring and endorsing our beautiful Aotearoa/New Zealand. Bridging the gap between Kiwi Conservation Club and Forest & Bird we range from ages 14yrs to 25yrs.

This year I will be running a Forest & Bird Youth Wellington council, organising an exciting series of events and creating inspiring environmental opportunities for many Wellington youth. I am both very thankful to have this opportunity and excited to see this programme flourish and expand throughout our country in the near future.

Our main aim will be providing easy access to environmental opportunities and education on the ground through collaboration and youth-led events!

I’m proud to be able to share this programme with so many other passionate young environmentalists… so stay tuned for our up and coming events!
