Storytime: Growing Up

Storytime: Growing up, my whānau wanted me to get to know Aotearoa/New Zealand for all the beauty and adventure it could offer. As part of this, we saved up and went on two big trips to the South Island to explore the East Coast and then the West Coast, covering some of what I now deem my favourite places here. In these holidays, we prioritised nature connection, going on day walks to caves, waterfalls, glaciers, forests, and beaches. We went geocaching, swimming, kayaking, climbing, and wildlife watching (amongst other things)... and I took my camera everywhere. These experiences throughout my life filled me with wonder and awe for our country and a deep sense of connection to place and my identity as a kiwi/New Zealander. I'm deeply inspired by these landscapes and passionate about protecting these taonga/treasured species because of these memories, experiences and connections.

These stories feature in our upcoming resources, including our fabulous comic from Maya Templer.

Stay tuned as we release these soon!
