Nature Observation Over Time

Grace jacos corban Seasonal nature observation

In Aotearoa, our seasonal tohu/signs are quite different to the signs seen overseas. A lot of our native trees are evergreen, meaning their leaves stay on year-round rather than dropping off. We also have more mild temperature difference across the year, compared to deep layers of snow in Winter and heatwaves above 35degrees that are sometimes seen overseas. These differences can mean that a lot of the ways we discuss change over time aren’t accurate for our local experiences.

In this activity, you will be observing some of those natural changes and tracking them over a month.
